12-foot Burmese Python Recovers after 14 Eggs Removed from Reproductive Tract

This Burmese Python, named Strawberry 2 (after her sister), is a patient here at the Odd Pet Vet. After an examination with Dr. Mertz, she was found to be ‘egg bound’, and was scheduled for surgery. Today, Dr. Mertz successfully removed 14 large eggs from her reproductive tract. Those eggs are HUGE, large than a chicken egg, as is to be expected from a 12-foot snake. Although exotic, this is a typical day here at the Odd Pet Vet. We have office hours 7 days a week, and treat all sorts of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. Give our front desk a call at 781-682-4878 to schedule a Spring check up for your loved one. Strawberry 2 will be recovering in the hospital before going home with her parents tomorrow. Good job girl, now get some rest 🙂

100% of OPV proceeds goes to fund the care of wildlife and STEM education here at NEWC.
