Green Frog

Green frog (Lithobates clamitans):

Green frogs are one of the most common frogs found on the east coast of North America, and are frequently found along ponds, ditches and mild waterways. They are distinctively green in color with a grayish/white underbelly. As adults the green frogs are carnivores that can eat anything that passes its mouth:  insects, fish, mice, and crayfish; as tadpoles they are herbivorous and eat algae and other aquatic plants.

You can tell the boys from the girls by the size of the tympanum(ear drum).  It is twice as big as the eye in the males.  Also the males croak and females are silent. They will also hibernate in soils underwater, as a way of keeping warm.
